IrisGuard Inc. recently announced the release of its latest iris recognition imager, the EyeSign. The EyeSign is a next generation dual iris biometric camera designed to eliminate fraud in bank transactions.
The EyeSign camera is tightly integrated with IrisGuard’s award winning EyeBank solution for traditional banking channels such as teller and ATM services, along with Internet banking and on-line shopping functionality.
Over the next six months, the EyeBank device will be deployed at all banks running the IrisGuard EyeBank solution, which are mainly located in the Middle East.
Andrew Holland, Senior Vice President for Research and Development at IrisGuard said: “We are extremely excited about the EyeSign release which is based on our third generation hardware architecture. It is the result of two years of design, research and development. The novel EyeSign camera incorporates the latest developments in optical design, iris countermeasures, spoof-detection, near field communication and crypto memory chip technologies providing secure, embedded hardware encryption for all biometric data transmission.”
Early beta users who have tested the system found it easier to use and more secure as a tool to conduct their on-line banking transactions, which include paying bills, transferring money and checking balances. Knowing they can bank and shop on-line without remembering multiple cryptic user ids and passwords provides the consumer benefits. The banks themselves gain through the adoption of better technology which prevents fraud and makes their operations more efficient.
“We have included a pristine, specifically engineered auto-focus optics that provides the highest ISO iris image quality in the industry,” continued Holland. “We are extending the EyeSign product line, to include an OEM camera module which will be available in the first quarter of 2013. This will permit system integrators to embed the OEM module into points-of-sale and kiosks equipment solutions.”
