Fujistu and ImageWare Systems collaborate for cloud-based multi-modal biometric solutions

March 25, 2013 -

Fujitsu has announced a fresh partnership with ImageWare Systems, for the deployment of a new multi-modal biometric identity management solution and model.

According to the company, this new solution is based on Fujitsu’s Global Cloud Platform and features ImageWare’s CloudID product suite, and Biometric Engine. The solution is expected to be introduced in North America in April, and will be licensed on a service or transactional basis.

“This collaboration illustrates the ability for Fujitsu and ImageWare to respond to market needs and growth opportunity from technology and service delivery perspectives,” Joel O’Halloran, Executive Vice President IT Services and Retail at Fujitsu America said. “Also, we anticipate this will serve as a model for other leading technology companies to define their solutions in the cloud by following the features and capabilities offered by our Global Cloud Platform.”

ImageWare’s IWS CloudID Product Suite is an adaptable, modular structure designed for enterprise class identity management.  Fujitsu’s Global Cloud Platform is an on-demand IT infrastructure service, which combines a public cloud with its extensive network of private data centers.

“Working with Fujitsu and its Global Cloud Platform solution brings ImageWare to the cloud with a recognized best-in-class global partner and a leading innovator in the IT space,” Jim Miller, Chairman and CEO of ImageWare Systems said. “We are proud to collaborate with Fujitsu by bringing our cloud-ready patented biometric solutions directly to large enterprise, and emerging applications over Fujitsu’s Global Cloud Platform.”

Last year, the Biometrics Research Group noted ImageWare Systems as a “speculative buy” for both retail and institutional share market investors, as the firm represented an attract acquisition target for larger biometric companies.
