IriTech launches new workforce and identity management software packs

June 25, 2013 -

Iris recognition specialist, IriTech has released two software packages – IriTracker and ForYourIrisOnly (FYIO) — to improve its IriShield-USB iris camera that works for Windows/Linux as well as Android devices.

According to the company, the two new pieces of software utilize IriShield’s SDK for workforce and identity management and since all iris recognition data and functions are handled within the embedded camera, the software packages are virtually immune to viruses regardless of the host device.

IriTracker aims to raise employee attendance while preserving privacy, whereas ForYourIrisOnly is an iris-recognition-based identity management and data protection software on PCs and mobile devices. Its main functions include Windows log-in, file and folder encryption, secure sign-on to websites or applications requiring user IDs and passwords and applications launch control.

Last year, IriTech teamed up with Texas Instruments to unveil the IriShield iris recognition camera powered by TI’s TMS3230C6748 DSP chip.

Reported previously, Fulcrum Biometrics has partnered with IriTech for its online sales.

According to a new market research report, the total market value of touchless sensing and gesture recognition market – which includes iris recognition — is expected to reach $15.02 billion by 2018, growing at a CAGR of 34.94 percent from 2013-2018.
