NEC Corporation of America introduced Stanchion 3.0, its new integrated point of sale solution that integrates hardware, software and services.
NEC showcased the POS solution, along with other biometric-enabled retail solutions at last week’s National Retail Federation conference in New York.
Stanchion 3.0 provides store managers and staff with greater access to data, improved communications and increased productivity within their store environments.
The solution is both scalable and customizable to help retail employees collect real-time data and streamline the processes of ordering, forecasting and making operational decisions from the store floor.
The solution can ultimately help retailers deliver an enhanced customer experience to increasingly tech-savvy consumers.
For the first time in the U.S., NEC showcased its NEC TWINPOS G5 solution. As the latest in all-in-one compact POS terminals, the G5 features a high-resolution display, a dual-core processor and a reputation for easy repairs.
Additionally, NEC Enterprise Biometrics demonstrated in-store audience measurement tools, as well as its NeoFace Watch system, which uses propriety face recognition technology to identify individuals such as VIP shoppers or known offenders for loss prevention.
Finally, NEC has partnered with Microsoft Corp. for a new retail signage solution that combines NEC face recognition technology with Microsoft’s Kinect camera system to provide digital retail signage based on an individual’s age and gender.
The retail signage solution also archives in-store demographic and engagement data in the cloud for later analysis by the retailer.
