Barska Biometrics releases dual fingerprint scanning storage device

February 23, 2015 -

Biometric security technologies firm Barska Biometrics announced it has added the IBOX dual fingerprint scanning storage device to its line of biometric safes and lock boxes.

Barska Biometrics’ dual biometric sensor allows for fast and easy use while eliminating the need for a key, while its lightweight and portable design lends itself well to on-the-go storage.

Users can use either one of the two fingerprint sensors to open the device, with the second sensor serving as a backup unit.

The scanners feature a 500 DPI optical reader that automatically analyzes a print once a finger is placed onto the scanner.

Matching algorithms are used to compare a stored template of a fingerprint against the candidate fingerprint for verification. Within one second, the IBOX is able to accept or reject the fingerprint with less than .0001% divergence of accuracy.

The silent access mode enables users to access the IBOX without setting off any sound alerts.

The device also has a built-in sound alert notification that notifies the user when it has been left open or has not been completely closed, ensuring that it is not accidentally left open and that the contents remain secure at all times.

The IBOX’s intelligent activation fingerprint scanner is highly energy efficient, providing up to two years of battery life on 4 AA batteries.

The device features 410 cubic inches of storage space, providing sufficient room to store a wide range of important items. Additionally, the device has a low working temperature so that it can be used for refrigerator storage for medications like Insulin.
