Identity verification and fraud detection firm NuData Security has appointed Robert Capps as vice president of business development.
Capps is a recognized security and cybercrime technologist, thought leader and advisor with more than 20 years of experience in helping organizations counter risk. In his new role with NuData Security, he is responsible for overseeing the company’s growing channel program and the development of strategic alliances and partnerships.
“The global threat environment continues to grow, and it’s clear that traditional fraud detection methods aren’t working,” commented Capps. “NuData Security flips the script on those traditional methods by working to truly understand the human behind the machine and put the emphasis on the good user. I’m thrilled to join this team and look forward to furthering these efforts to provide our customers with unparalleled protection and service.”
Prior to joining NuData Security, Capps was senior director at RedSeal, responsible for technical, security and customer operations. He also served as senior manager for global trust and safety at StubHub where he built a global cybercrime investigation and threat intelligence team that was instrumental in the successful prosecutions of cybercriminals.
“Robert brings a wealth of security and technology experience coupled with a deep understanding of companies’ unique cyber risk concerns and needs,” said Michel Giasson, CEO, NuData Security. “The addition of Robert to our team is invaluable, underscoring our commitment to providing our customers with best-in-class service and protection from fraud and data breaches.”
NuData Security harnesses device, connection, passive biometrics and behavioral analytics to authenticate users, helping companies maintain the customer experience while being protected from fraud and risk.
Just last month, the company announced that it had been honored at the 2016 Merchant Risk Council METAwards which acknowledges start-up and established solution providers whose creative innovations and advanced technologies have contributed to the commercial and operational success within the eCommerce payments and fraud community.
