Islamabad safe city project includes facial recognition software

According to a report in Business Recorder, Islamabad Minister for Interior Ch. Nisar Ali Khan inaugurated its safe city project in Islamabad on Monday.

1950 surveillance cameras have been installed at different points of the city in an effort to control the crime rate in the capital, keep a check on car thieves and improve the traffic system in Pakistan’s capital city. The CCTV surveillance system will also help security departments track criminal suspects.

The CCTV based safe city project system has camera based facial recognition software and 4G technology included along with a central control center.
