DERMALOG ID checking software receives German government certification

December 29, 2017 -

DERMALOG has announced that its ePassport MRTDAPI electronic ID inspection software has been certified by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) according to the “TR-03105” guideline.

The BSI confirms with the certification that the software functions reliably and complies with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

ePassport MRTDAPI verifies the authenticity of data stored on chips in eID systems, such as fingerprints or portrait photos, and uses security mechanisms including Extended Access Control (EAC) to protect data from unauthorized access. It is used with the DERMALOG VF1 All-In-One scanner, which captures fingerprints as well as identity documents or airline tickets, according to the announcement.

The DERMALOG ZF1 fingerprint scanner was certified by the BSI in early 2017, and also passed the FBI’s “Mobile ID” review a few weeks ago. The FBI also recently certified DERMALOG’s F1 and Palm 3 scanners.
