Secure Planet’s Biometric Android app released on Google Play
Secure Planet has recently launched a free Android phone application called Secure BioID-Lite App on Google Play Andriod app store.
The Secure BioID-Lite application lets users from industries such law enforcement or healthcare perform unique biometric identification through their Android device. The application supports biometric matching on fingerprints, faces, and irises.
Important information such as a person’s biological qualities are required for application enrolment. Enrolment requires the use of external equipment such as an external iris scanner or external fingerprint scanner. When biometrics searches are performed, the application will identify the matches from stored records and will retrieve all associated biographical information.
Secure BioID-Lite runs on the Android v3.1 Honeycomb operating system or a newer version. For its fingerprint scanner, the application requires the USB Futronic FS88, which is built to operate with various phones and tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Asus Transformer Prime and Acer Iconia A500. You will also need a USB OTG adapter cable to use the Futronic FS88.
“This easy to use mobile solution demonstrates Secure Planet’s unique identification capabilities,” said Secure Planet President Bob Kocher disclosed. “It can be applied as an enrolment and vetting solution for police, schools, public service, disaster management, health services and more.”
In addition, implementing the Secure BioID™-Lite application for law enforcement activities allows for incident reporting, field interviews, warrant issuance, and pedestrian stops or roadside checkpoints.
It is expected that over the next few months Secure Planet will be introducing a better and updated version of the Secure BioID™-Lite application.
