ValidSoft recognized by Opus Research for voice biometrics

ValidSoft, a supplier of telecommunications-based authentication, fraud prevention and transaction verification solutions, has announced that it has been recognized by Opus Research as a leading provider of voice biometrics capabilities in a recent report.

The report entitled Voice Biometrics Vendor Survey and “IntelliView” 2012, reviewed eight individual vendors for voice biometrics. Opus Research is an independent analyst firm that focuses on voice biometrics.

“ValidSoft demonstrates willingness to create opportunities for a broad set of firms in the mobile payments and commerce businesses, thus expanding the reach of the voice biometrics community as part of a multi-channel, payments community,” Dan Miller senior analyst at Opus Research said. “Employing multiple factors is a ‘best practice’ for secure customer care, mobile authentication, payment authorizations and information access management.”

ValidSoft uses voice biometrics as one of the factors for its multi-factor authentication security solution, and remains the only vendor that provides the technology this way. The company’s multi-factor solution has been awarded the EuroPrise Privacy Seal for its ability to safeguard users’ personal details. ValidSoft is the only security company in the world with three European Privacy Seals.

“We are very pleased to have been identified as a key player in the development of context aware security solutions, and delighted to be named as one of the leading providers of voice biometrics by Opus Research,” Pat Carroll, CEO of ValidSoft said. “Voice biometrics is a very important component of our multi-factor, multi-layer, strong authentication security solution, and we expect to see voice biometrics feature strongly in financial services as adoption becomes main-stream. Voice biometrics is also particularly well suited in the enrollment and activation processes for mobile wallets and Apps and will become increasingly important given the forecast rise in the volume of mobile payments in the coming year.”

Nuance Communications was also recognized for its voice biometrics in the same report.

As reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, voice biometrics is a popular choice for remote authentication, as the equipment needed to collect samples is accessible and basic. The National Australia Bank recently announced it has opted to use voice recognition for the biometric authentication of its customers rather than fingerprinting, as it deems the technology more secure and reliable.
