Vision-Box becomes IATA strategic partner

Categories Biometrics News

Portuguese border control systems and electronic identity management solutions provider, Vision-Box has become an International Air Transport Association (IATA) strategic partner.

IATA is an international trade body that represents, serves and leads the air industry, to help shape the industry and provide support to its affiliates.

“By joining the IATA Strategic Partner program, Vision-Bos is able to reach a broader audience and help define new industry standards in the field of airport security and the passenger experience,” Miguel Leitmann, Senior Vice President of Vision-Box said.

Earlier this year, Vision-Box introduced its new biometric periscope, for the long distance simultaneous capture of face and iris in self-service eGates. This new ‘periscope’ automatically adjusts height and illumination to allow ICAO-compliant iris and face capture and matching.

2013 has so far been a year of accolades for the company. Most recently, Vision-Box took home the Asian SESAME Award during the CARTES Asia conference, for its new vb e-pass dispenser. The e-pass dispenser is intended for the self-service delivery and renewal process for ID cards, and has so far been deployed in the Middle East.

In March, Frost & Sullivan gave Vision-Box the 2013 European Vertical Market Penetration Leadership Award, based on its recent analysis of the border control and biometrics market.

According to Forst & Sullivan, Vision-Box has made strong gains over the last five years, registering 28-30 percent year-on-year growth.
