Cross Match donates biometric tools to U.S. Naval Academy Foundation
Cross Match has recently donated biometric identity management software and hardware to the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation for the Academy’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
Specifically, the donation includes Guardian Patrol ID ten-print fingerprint livescan and ISCAN II dual iris scan devices, EF200 dual fingerprint scanners, MOBS mission-oriented biometric software and Cross Match’s latest WEBS enrollment software.
“Our employees in Palm Beach Gardens assemble SEEK multi-biometric handhelds and develop biometric software and applications that support the efforts of our servicemen and women around the world,” David Buckley, president and CEO of Cross Match and USNA alumnus said. “This donation symbolizes our commitment to them and to ensuring that future military leaders have the most comprehensive biometric training.”
Cross Match hardware and software is used widely in the military. Reported previously, the U.S. Marines are also using devices from Cross Match, which have already enrolled over 19,000 persons of interest in the field. Specifically, the Marines are using the SEEK II handheld device – the same device which was used to identify Osama Bin Laden.
Cross Match also recently launched the SEEK Avenger. This new device incorporates Cross Match’s MOBS software, as well as a secure credential reader and communication options. This new iteration of the SEEK device is 40% smaller than the SEEK II and is capable of capturing stand-off dual iris and fingerprint images in direct sunlight.
