Biomids launches facial recognition authentication system
Biometric Identification and Security Systems (Biomids) has launched its Instant-In Access Manager which uses facial recognition to replace passwords for desktop authentication.
Using Internet Explorer and Chrome, the access manager also grants access to websites using the same technology.
According to the company, it is currently offering a free trial of the system, downloadable from its website.
The system is currently compatible on Windows products, the Surface Pro, as well as Apple products, iPads and iPhones. The Instant-In Suite also includes SDK options for developers to integrate facial recognition into their own apps.
According to new research, the global facial recognition market has been projected to grow at a CAGR of 24.5 between 2012 and 2016. As it stands, government departments are the major adopters and users of facial recognition.
