GCR Launches Biometric System with Business Automation

IT products and services consulting firm GCR announced on Wednesday it has introduced a credentialing system that couples the power of biometrics with business automation and other aspects.

Dubbed AirportIQ Secure Credentials, the new system offers continuous validation of background, identity verification of aviation workers and binding of biometric and biographic information to the individual.

The system, which GCR says is actively being marketed to other airports, manages the entry and maintenance of identity information, prints badges, interfaces with access control systems, maintains historical information, and provides easy deployment to off-site authorized signers.

AirportIQ Secure Credentials combines core biometric and credentialing functionality by ImageWare Systems, while the business automation and other components were built by GCR.

The system’s credentialing capabilities include automatic background check interfacing with federal agencies, card issuance and management, regulatory compliance functions, a security enforcement program which allows badge holders to enter tickets, and perimeter post access validation.

“GCR is pleased to be able to offer this new personnel credentialing and badging system to the airport industry,” said Phillip Brodt, vice president and general manager of transportation and security solutions at GCR. “The significant capabilities it offers to help an organization manage the myriad operational and regulatory requirements is significant.”
