KeyLemon has just joined the Blackboard Partnerships Program to include its facial recognition in Blackboard’s online education solution, the company announced recently.

“Blackboard Learn represents the latest in teaching and learning technology and techniques,” Anthony Gioeli, VP of sales and marketing for KeyLemon said. “We are excited that Blackboard Learn customers will be able to use KeyLemon’s biometric solutions to further enhance their security, credibility and classroom engagement with no additional workload for students or staff, creating a win-win for student and educator alike.”

KeyLemon says its biometric ID will give users fast authentication that enhances the online learning experience.

“Our partner and develop programs drive tremendous value for clients by enabling access to hundreds of pre-built extensions that help them get more value of our their learning platforms,” Jim Kelly, VP of business development at Blackboard said. “This unique, vibrant community of development makes it easy for institutions to customize their systems and gives them great flexibility in how they improve and shape the education experience.”

Specifically, Blackboard Learn customers may use the KeyLemon face IF plugin for identification and authorization for Blackboard learning functions and tasks. KeyLemon says its face recognition algorithms capture and match a 20-point facial fingerprint to database records in milliseconds.

In addition to authentication, future iterations of KeyLemon’s education solutions will be able to asses head and eye position and monitor emotional responses.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, KeyLemon also recently announced a partnership with Swissteach to introduce facial recognition to the company’s Global Teach online learning management system.
