User-Centric ID has announced it will soon host its User-Centric ID Live conference, which it calls the first event focused on the business of user-centric identity.

Held on October 15-16 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C., the conference will discuss the many business challenges and commercial opportunities related to user-centric identity.

According to the event’s website, the two-day conference will feature numerous sessions which will “focus on technologies, standards, implementations, applications, and business models in the new user-centric identity ecosystem”.

There will also be a keynote presentation that provides an overview of the market, along with any social and legal issues that will potentially emerge as a result of these new tools.

Presentation topics will include “How the IDESG Is Delivering on the Principles Founded Under NSTIC”, “Federated Identity from the Trenches: What AOL Learned about Identity as a Service While Providing High Value Consumer Services as a Relying Party”, “Convergence of ID and Mobile”, “U.S. Postal Service Pilot for the Federal Cloud Credentialing Exchange”, and “Form Factor and Functionality: How Do Various Digital Identity Models Compare For Security, Scalability, Privacy and Consumer Readiness”

The various keynote presentations will be delivered by government conference chair Randy Vanderhoodf and User-Centric Identity Conference chair Chris Corum; consultant and IDESG management council chair Peter Brown; AOL chief Architect consumer identity services George Fletcher; Deloitte senior manager of enterprise risk services Craig Astrich; and USPS manager for supply chain strategies Doug Glair, with SecureKey GM public sector and healthcare Scott Lowry.

A two-day conference pass is priced at $850, while a single-day pass is $530. The rates for both passes will increase after September 24th.

Purchase of a conference pass also includes access to the concurrent Smart Card Alliance Government Conference and Exhibition which focuses on government projects in ID and security, to be held on October 29-30.
