KeyLemon’s biometric security revs up Mortorcycle Safety Institute
KeyLemon announced it will provide face recognition login and identity verification services to Motorcycle Safety Institute’s online motorcycle safety and driver education courses.
Using KeyLemon facial recognition technology, MSI will now be able to provide its students with a more secure and convenient method of participating in online courses.
Previously, MSI verified remote student identity using a password system, which not only slowed down productivity but made attending lectures and writing exams more susceptible to fraud since passwords could easily be transferred from one individual to another.
“Online education and similar web services are particularly vulnerable to data breaches and other security threats, resulting in significant loss of revenue each year,” said Anthony Gioeli, VP of sales and marketing for KeyLemon. “Biometric security alleviates these threats while also reducing liability concerns for credentialed teaching programs.”
MSI’s new KeyLemon system will replace legacy username-and-password logins with facial recognition technology that can verify a student’s identity using 20 points of unique facial data and advanced anti-spoofing tactics.
The system provides tighter security to safeguard sensitive student data and allows students to securely login automatically from many different devices, identifying all authorized students without the help of support staff. It is also fully compatible with learning management systems such as Moodle and Blackboard, using a device’s built-in camera found to identify users in under a second.
MSI student’s logins will now be matched to a unique facial pattern that can either be used on its own or in combination with passwords and KeyLemon voice identification technology.
KeyLemon recently joined the Blackboard Partnerships Program to include its facial recognition in Blackboard’s online education solution.
