AxxonSoft facial recognition solution protects jewelry at Singapore exhibition
AxxonSoft announced that its facial recognition solution was used to protect USD $200 million worth of jewelry at the Singapore International Jewelry Exhibition last month, following a theft incident at last year’s event.
Face Intellect is a software solution designed for public gathering places, important infrastructure sites, and access. The technology recognizes faces captured on video, which can then be checked against previously recorded footage.
Event security installed high-resolution cameras at the entrance to the exhibition hall to perform automatic facial recognition, ensuring that every visitor was scanned and verified by guards and event organizers.
“The system scans the facial traits of people who are in the camera’s field of view, with equal effectiveness for all genders, ages and ethnicities,” said Durairaj Gireraj, director Asia-Pacific at AxxonSoft.
The company states that Face Intellect has a significantly high recognition rate, enabling it to identify faces regardless of facial hair, hairstyle, eyewear, aging or angle, and in a variety of background conditions.
The software is compatible with legacy databases, can be integrated with access control systems, offers real-time notification of identity matches and alerts, and is based on recognition algorithms powered by Cognitec SDK v 5.0.
