Iris ID’s iris recognition system now integrated with ESI’s biometric voter registration
Iris ID Systems announced that its iris recognition system — IrisAccess platform iCAM T10 and IrisAccelerator — is now integrated with Electoral Services International’s biometric voter registration.
All current ESI customers will be able to upgrade to the BVR application enabled with Iris ID technology.
Combining commercial hardware with a software interface and a central multi-biometric matching server, ESI’s BVR can be used to collect and clean voter registration information.
Using ESI’s BVR, electoral administrators are able to register voters “in the field”, issue different types of voter ID cards in the field or from headquarters, store data in a reliable and secure manner, search for duplicates based on multi-biometrics, and manage the database and produce reports, including the final voter registry.
“As a leading provider of iris recognition system we are excited to be part of this new implementation by ESI which allows iris technology to be coupled with BVR solutions.” said Charles Koo, president and CEO of Iris ID Systems. “This is a key milestone for our identification technology; iris recognition is a perfect solution for providing strong identity voter registration process. As we did with other identity dependent application for major national identity, we are pleased to be first in bringing iris recognition biometrics to a host of secure identity dependent applications with ESI BVR solution.”
Iris ID Systems’ IrisAccess iCAM Series cameras and IrisAccelerator provide a complete iris recognition system that meets the unique needs for a biometric identification environment.
Providing a rapid iris matching solution using Iris ID’s technology, IrisAccelerator can be configured to support large population databases of up to 1 billion while processing hundreds of millions of de-duplication transactions per day.
“We are delighted to be associated with Iris ID in the expansion of our BVR capabilities.” said ESI president Dwight Casson. “This definitely enhances our offerings to our clients in this all important technology. It has been proven that iris recognition provides lowest failure to enroll, where other biometric technologies reach more than 5%.”
