Precise Biometrics licenses fingerprint algorithm to Synaptics, appoints nomination committee member

 

Precise Biometrics announced that Synaptics has signed a license agreement to integrate Precise Biometrics fingerprint algorithm into its touch fingerprint sensors and solutions.

”The agreement with Synaptics strengthens our position as an independent vendor of fingerprint algorithms for mobile and other embedded devices,” said Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. ”We have a proven track record of delivering fingerprint algorithms with industry leading performance. This agreement is an important step to further commercialize our fingerprint technology.”

Precise BioMatch Mobile integrates fingerprint matching functionality for smartphones and tablets.

It is also optimized for small touch sensors in mobile environments through a unique hybrid algorithm.

Additionally, Can Durmaz has joined Precise Biometrics’ nomination committee following Uno Jonsson’s decision to leave the committee due to personal reasons.

Following the principles set out at the annual general meeting, Durmaz joins Precise Biometrics’ other committee members and three major shareholders, Torgils Knutsson Bonde, Robert Andersson and Torgny Hellström.

In total, the four committee members represent 4.3 million shares through their own holdings and companies.

Preciously reported, Precise Biometrics launched three new Tactivo smart card readers for iPhone 6, iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2.
