VAMPIRE tactical forensic device features fingerprint scanner by Integrated Biometrics
Integrated Biometrics announced that its mobile ID fingerprint sensor Sherlock has been integrated into Booz Allen Hamilton’s VAMPIRE tactical forensic device to conduct real-time forensic collection and analysis in field.
Integrated Biometrics’ Sherlock is able to perform fast, accurate, live fingerprint identification, and works with Allen Hamilton’s VAMPIRE latent print system to rapidly achieve matching analysis.
“The major issue we address with products such as Sherlock is the growing need to take certified fingerprint technology into the field, not just the station house,” said Integrated Biometrics CEO Steve Thies. “We’re thrilled that a leading technology provider like Booz Allen has chosen to integrate Sherlock into a bleeding-edge tool like VAMPIRE.”
The partnership brings VAMPIRE’s fingerprint analysis capability to Integrated Biometrics’ commercial mobile device.
As a result, VAMPIRE delivers latent to latent matching capability, while Sherlock boosts performance by enabling both live to latent matching and watch-list creation.
Law enforcement agents using VAMPIRE require little forensic knowledge or training to perform advanced forensic processing, allowing them to quickly gather any fingerprint evidence that can aid an investigation.
Designed to easily integrate into multiple applications, Sherlock allows biometric devices like VAMPIRE to be smaller and mobile while having little effect on overall weight or form-factor.
Sherlock is designed to withstand tough conditions with minimal maintenance while providing accurate high-resolution fingerprint scans in nearly any environment including direct sunlight.
Previously reported, Integrated Biometrics recently unveiled Columbo Desktop FAP PIV 30 Scanner, a new fingerprint scanner designed for the military, law enforcement, airport/border security, finance and health care.
