Neurotechnology intros SentiGaze SDK for eye movement tracking using webcams

Neurotechnology has introduced the SentiGaze software development kit, an algorithm that enables designers and developers to create applications that use standard webcams to track eye movements and generate heatmaps based on the way a user looks at a monitor.

Using the SDK, developers can create interfaces for a range of gaze-aware applications, including games and software designed for disabled people to help them control their computers.

Eye tracking technologies typically require the use of specialized hardware and customized environments, which greatly reduces the number and scale of potential applications that deploy the technology.

SentiGaze SDK enables designers and developers to create eye tracking applications and solutions that can be easily downloaded any installed from an office or home using a regular webcam mounted below a monitor.

Using the webcam, SentiGaze captures binocular eye data to track the user’s gaze. The SDK offers a range of tools including gaze heatmap generation, which provides a live preview of gaze heatmaps, gaze heatmap generation on images or videos and multiuser gaze heatmap generation.

The SDK supports screen sizes up to 24 inches and has an operating range of 18 to 32 inches with an optimal range of 24 inches, as well as C, C++ and C# programming languages.

“With SentiGaze SDK, you can use ordinary web cameras to really see and track where people are looking,” said Arturas Nakvosas, SentiGaze project lead for Neurotechnology. “The SDK is a flexible development tool that enables developers to create new eye-tracking applications or to easily integrate the SentiGaze technology into existing applications and solutions.”

The SDK can also be used in combination with the VeriLook SDK for facial recognition to perform more complex analysis, such as facial recognition for a specific application and determining a user’s gender or emotion.

SentiGaze SDK and Neurotechnology’s other products for AI, robotics, object recognition and biometric identification are now available through Neurotechnology and its global distributors.
