Fujitsu releases PalmSecure multi-factor authentication device
Fujitsu announced it has released its PalmSecure ID Match authentication device, which combines multi-factor verification of card and PIN with the individual’s unique palm-vein scan to optimize security.
The contactless solution comprises a PalmSecure sensor, a touchscreen, and ARM processor board, and a multi-card reader.
The device is similar to compact point of sale units, enabling organizations to easily develop their own specific applications which protect access, data and payments.
Additionally, companies and consumers are able to maximum security for user authentication, identity management and secured data transfer channels.
The multi-factor authentication reads an individual’s smart card and PIN, along with the unique pattern of veins in the human hand to verify an individual’s identity,
The matching of the card credentials and user’s hand biometrics are conducted on the device itself, ensuring that no personal biometric data is ever stored on a server or in the cloud.
The multi-factor verification product is now available in Australia for a wide range of applications including workforce management, financial services, public sector agencies, healthcare and retail.
Fujitsu has also released PalmSecure Truedentity, a client/server licence-based security software that provides maximum security for user authentication, identity management and secure data transfer channels.
The PalmSecure’s software development kit can be readily integrated with customer enterprise-to-enterprise applications, including access control (physical or logical), time attendance, or replacement of passwords for critical applications.
