Lenovo to conduct live biometrics demo on an SAP HANA solution at SAP Sapphire

 

Electronics manufacturer and SAP global technology partner Lenovo announced in a blog post that it will exhibit and present at Sapphire Now 2015, held May 5-7 in Orlando, Florida.

In the Sapphire exhibit hall, Lenovo will demonstrate four solutions, including SAP HANA scale-out and scale-up clusters that serve analytical use cases, SAP Business Suite components on HANA, and S/4HANA; SAP Business Warehouse Accelerator and converged infrastructures for SAP application landscapes; enterprise solutions; and virtualized SAP infrastructures.

Lenovo will also be conducting a live biometrics demo in which it will show the connected world from devices to data center to increase insight from healthcare data to ultimately reduce the cost of long-term healthcare and non-communicable disease.

Using a Moto360 smartwatch, Lenovo will collect steps, heart rate and other biometric data from attendees at the show.

It will submit the data in real-time into an SAP HANA database on a Lenovo server in a high-availability setup, and analyze it on a front-end Lenovo Yoga tablet.

SAP HANA allows one atomic set of data to be stored for all healthcare scenarios, including payer, provider, patient, diagnosis and activities, such as steps and heart-rate monitors.

Using Lenovo infrastructure, healthcare institutions can store the data at scale for use by patients, doctors and researches alike.

Previously reported, Lenovo will soon release the Smartband SW-B100, a new biometric wearable equipped with various fitness features and has the ability to unlock your computer.
