Panasonic unveils facial recognition surveillance solutions at ISC West 2015

Panasonic is showcasing its Intelligent Security solutions portfolio, including products with facial recognition capabilities, at the International Security Conference & Exposition 2015 (ISC West) this week in Las Vegas.

In the exhibition hall, Panasonic is demonstrating its line of surveillance products and technologies designed to capture, record, control and analyze surveillance video and audio.

“Advanced security features are no longer seen as a perk, but are rapidly becoming an important tool end users want and need to analyze surveillance data and improve business intelligence,” said Charlie Hare, Panasonic’s national category manager for security and mobile video solutions. “Our exhibit this year at ISC West demonstrates our continued commitment to providing our partners and end user customers with the most advanced, intelligent, and comprehensive line of video surveillance cameras, recording and video management solutions on the market today.”

Following its recent acquisition of Video Insight, Inc., Panasonic is now offering video management software that can be used with its existing hardware for a complete end-to-end video surveillance solution.

Additionally, Panasonic’s True 4K cameras include the ULTRA 360 camera with advanced analytics. The camera offers a range of capabilities, including heat mapping, people counting and moving object removal.

The company’s WV-ASF900 FacePro Facial Search and Recognition System provides advanced age and gender analytics reporting as well as the ability to set flexible alarm triggers on matches using live cameras.

The server-based facial recognition and matching platform enables high-speed facial search and improved matching capabilities on video from Panasonic i-PRO cameras using the best shot/face detection option.

The system delivers high-speed, high-capacity face search capabilities while significantly lowering server-processing loads and overall system impact to the network.

Its real-time face matching feature is capable of supporting up to 20 cameras per server, performing high-speed searches of up to 5,000 “known” registered faces on both live and recorded video, and storing 10 million detected face images on each server.

Available in May through authorized Panasonic resellers, the FacePro server-based facial recognition and matching platform can be used in campus environments, airport, and transit/public safety applications.

Previously reported, Panasonic Corporation recently tested its facial recognition security software at New Jersey Institute of Technology, following the complete installation of specialized cameras in the school’s Van Houten Library.
