Techshino’s iris recognition technology used in biometric time & attendance solution

Chinese biometric solutions firm Techshino announced that Indian staff management solutions firm Applied Data Logix has deployed its TCI311 iris recognition identity solution to be integrated into its tea pickers time and attendance management solution.

ADL chose to adopt iris recognition technology on behalf of large tea estate operators because tea pickers typically have worn-off fingerprints as a result of their work. This ruled out fingerprint scanning — a biometric modality that has dominated the Indian market.

Iris recognition provides many advantages over other biometric methods, including the fact that it is contactless, stable, and hard-to-forge.

Techshino’s monocular iris module TCI311 meets ADL’s simplicity requirement and passes the stringent humidity test, as well as supports RS-232 interface and does not require an operating system to work.

“We finally chose Techshino over the other big player in iris biometric field. With Techshino working side by side with our hardware team, we felt we are in good hands.” said C. Koteswaran, managing director of ADL. “So far, our tea estate clients are very happy with the new solution. It is cost-effective, easy to use, and prevents payroll fraud to a great extent.”
