ZKAccess releases biometric access control system for elevators

ZKAccess announced it has released its EC10 Elevator Control Panel, a biometric access control solution designed to control floor access.

Using the EC10 Elevator Control Panel, a building’s security team can restrict floor access based on various user credentials, including fingerprint and/or proximity card.

Security officials can also configure pre-defined time schedules to control floor access, such as setting ZKAccess’ EC10 to “passage mode” to allow unrestricted access during normal visitor/business hours.

The EC10 controls up to 10 individual relays and supports up to three expansion boards (model EX16).

As such, each EX16 expansion board controls up to 16 relays to allow a single EC10 to control access for up to 58 total floors.

The IP-based control panel enables users to connect to as many EC10 controllers on the network as needed.

The EC10 was primarily designed for controlling elevator access to floors, but it can also be used for many other access control applications which require the pairing of a single-reader with multiple relays, including storage cabinets with multiple drawers, school hallways with multiple lockers, and data centers with multiple server cages.

“Our powerful yet easy to use software makes the Elevator Control System very easy to manage,” said Larry Reed, CEO of ZKAccess. “And, you can connect as many EC10 controllers on the network as needed based on the number of floors you wish to control access on.”

Previously reported, ZKAccess is now offering a free three-credit CEU-accredited course entitled Advanced Biometric Access Control.
