Westinghouse Security to launch Kickstarter campaign for fingerprint deadbolt lock

Westinghouse Security announced it will be launching a Kickstarter campaign for fingerprint deadbolt lock Westinghouse Nucli on July 21st, with a goal to raise a total of $50,000.

The Nucli smart deadbolt offers fingerprint and PIN code authentication via a smartphone app, enabling users to control who has access to their home or business, regardless of location.

The device’s integrated Bluetooth, Z-Wave and Wi-Fi provides connectivity with other smart devices,

The app, available on both iOS and Android devices, allows users to receive images from Nucli’s outdoor camera, as well as real-time alerts on their phone, laptop or tablet.

Nucli features accelerometers that alert users when a door is left open for too long, as well as the ability to detect when the door closes, locking it automatically.

The deadbolt lock’s virtual keys can be shared with up to 50 users, eliminating the need to duplicate of keep track of physical keys.

Nucli offers a range of features, including a weatherproof design, the ability to let owners speak with and see visitors without opening the door or even being home, an integrated exterior camera that provides a 170 degree field Of view (FOV), visitor voice message capabilities, indoor and outdoor touchscreens for easy configuration and customization, super capacitor technology and a 9-volt external power tap for emergency backup access, a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 6-months and recharges in two hours, and a digital doorbell that plays any MP3 track.

Early backers can begin preordering Nucli on Kickstarter for $299, which is $100 off the regular retail price.
