CLEAR biometric identity platform coming to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

Clear announced that it is expanding its expedited traveler service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, providing fingerprint recognition and iris scanning technology to enable a faster and more seamless experience for members of the Clear Fast Access program.

The company’s biometric identification solutions are certified by the Department of Homeland Security as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology.

Several major US airports across the country are integrating Clear’s technology with the TSA PreCheck program, which ensures that Clear members average less than 5 minutes through the security screening process.

Travelers who sign up at a Clear airport location can enroll for a free 1 month trial, while Clear offers both corporate rates and family plans.

Clear’s biometric platform can also be scaled for other verticals including stadiums, universities, office buildings and other venues seeking to improve security and customer experience.

“We are thrilled to launch Clear in Austin – a city focused on growth and innovation,” said Clear CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker. “Austin-Bergstrom is one of the fastest-growing airports in the country, serving almost 11 million passengers last year. Clear’s mission is to strengthen security and redefine the customer experience at the touch of a finger. We’re very excited to now offer our Clear members an additional opportunity to use our platform. We look forward to introducing this innovative technology to new customers in the Austin area.”

In addition to being used at several U.S. airports, Clear’s platform expanded to three Major League Baseball stadiums this year, including Yankee Stadium in New York, AT&T Park in San Francisco, and Coors Field in Denver.

Clear has posted a video demonstrating how its fingerprint recognition and iris scanning technology works.

Previously reported, the Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport introduced their fingerprint recognition and iris scanning solution in September as a security clearance option to all travellers enrolled in the Clear Fast Access program
