JENETRIC fingerprint sensor combines user display and fingerprint capture area

JENETRIC announced it has developed LIVETOUCH quattro, a new class of fingerprint identification product that is comprised of an optical TFT technology-based transparent image sensor that combines the fingerprint capture area with the user display for instructions and real-time feedback.

The fingerprint identification product overcomes the limitations of previous systems and provides a user-friendly approach to capturing fingerprints, said JENETRIC.

LIVETOUCH quattro is two-thirds smaller than conventional devices and is the first device fully certified to the FBI standard for Mobile ID FAP 60.

The graphical display beneath the sensor illuminates the capture area as well as displays the user instructions, making prisms, lenses and mirrors used in traditional fingerprint scanners obsolete.

“The LIVETOUCH technology opens up new possibilities for capturing biometric features,” said Roberto Wolfer, one of the founders and CEOs of JENETRIC GmbH. “Finally we are able to combine the highest image quality requirements with incredibly simple operation. Our customers not only save time and money, but they also increase the public acceptance of using fingerprint systems.”

The image sensor is positioned in close proximity to the finger, which greatly improves the image contrast.

The “LIVETOUCH quattro” achieves a high quality image that surpasses the strict FBI requirements.

Additionally, the integrated display is able to show graphical elements, animations or movies to avoid any errors caused by incorrect positioning of fingers, making the it an ideal solution for self-service terminals.

JENETRIC is exhibiting and demonstrating LIVETOUCH quattro this week at the Global Identity Summit in Tampa, Florida.
