Coolpad Shine smartphone features Precise BioMatch Mobile and rear-mounted FPC1025 fingerprint sensor
Precise Biometrics’ fingerprint recognition product for mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile, and FPC’s touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025, have both been integrated in Coolpad Shine.
Precise BioMatch Mobile can seamlessly integrate fingerprint matching functionality in smartphones and tablets, while being optimized for small touch sensors in mobile environments through the company’s patented hybrid algorithm.
The software quickly, accurately, and securely verifies the user’s identity, ensuring a seamless user experience for consumers when unlocking their mobile device or authenticating to services, as well as delivering a high level of security.
FPC1025 offers the lowest power consumption and user flexibility in the industry, while its 3D pixel sensing technology enables it to read nearly any finger, regardless of if it is dry or wet.
At the product’s launch, Coolpad CEO Jeeves Jiang suggested that the rear-mounted sensor is a design choice intended to improve the user experience.
Since FPC’s sensors provide 360 degree finger rotation, users are able to easily scan fingerprints without having to carefully place their fingers onto the sensor — enabling the sensor to be rear-mounted.
Previously reported, Fingerprint Cards (FPC) and Precise Biometrics have partnered to integrate their respective fingerprint recognition technologies integrated into two of Google’s two Nexus smartphones.
