EAB to host biometrics in banking and payments seminar in Amsterdam
The European Association for Biometrics (EAB) will hold its next ‘Biometrics in Banking and Payments’ seminar on November 26 at the Planetarium Amsterdam in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
All major Dutch banks have registered for the seminar, including ABN AMRO, ING, SNS, Rabo Bank, International Card Services, Binck Bank, Deutsche Bank and the Dutch Central Bank. Representatives from major industry players will be attending including 3M, Oracle, Innopay, Authasas, AMP Logistics and 1U.
Featured speakers for this seminar include: Berit Bourgogne from ING, Murat Karabur from Ölcsan, Richard Guest of University of Kent, Tony Mansfield from the National Physical Laboratory and Matthias Terlau of Osborne Clarke.
End users, vendors and independent experts will discuss many key issues relating to biometrics in banking and payments, including the critical role that biometrics is starting to play in remote authentication as a 2nd or 3rd factor, voice and face biometrics providing continuous authentication, new fingerprint-on-card technologies enabling smooth chipcard activation, along with several other issues.
The seminar will also feature a mini expo where industry experts will present and demonstrate various use cases.

Registration is still open for the event, with free admission for all financial institutions.
