Autonomous_ID secures gait-based authentication patents
Canadian based biometrics research and development firm, Autonomous_ID, announced that the U.S. Patent and Trade Office (USPTO) has issued two patents central to the company’s products and services.
On November 17, 2015, the USPTO issued patent 9,188,963 for a gait-based authentication system used to determine if a user of a device is an authenticated user of restricted resources. The patent protects the technology central to the company’s workforce and personal identity systems based on its Bio_Sole solution. These systems enable users to authenticate identity with a minimal risk of error while protecting their privacy.
On December 8, 2015, the USPTO issued patent 9,204,797 for a gait-based biometric device capable of determining changes in a user’s medical condition. The company’s Bio_Sole, together with its Pedo_Biometric software enables signature comparisons over time that can be used to provide early detection of a range of ailments such as diabetes, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, dementia and other pathological conditions.
Todd D. Gray, the chairman and CEO of autonomous_ID commented; “These patents enable autonomous_ID to provide its clients with secure, unobtrusive, wearable devices that deliver benefits, either in better physical security for restricted resources, and in better systems to detect changes in users’ health conditions.”
