Meitu launches M6 smartphone featuring Fingerprint Cards’ touch sensor

 

Meitu launched its new M6 smartphone today featuring Fingerprint Cards’ touch sensor FPC1035 mounted on the front of the device.

The M6 also comes with Alipay and WeChat Pay and supports simple features like click/long-press to activate and protect different apps.

“Meitu is one of the newer smartphone manufacturers in China and we are proud that they selected FPC1035 for the M6 model, its first smartphone model featuring a fingerprint sensor,” said Jörgen Lantto, CEO of Fingerprint Cards. “FPC1035 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”

In related news, Precise Biometrics announced that its algorithm solution, has, through cooperation with Fingerprint Cards, been integrated in a smartphone from a new, unnamed Chinese vendor.

Precise BioMatch Mobile is a patented algorithm solution for secure fingerprint recognition on smartphones and tablets that is optimized for small fingerprint sensors and platforms with limited processing power and memory space.

“We are pleased that this new vendor has integrated Precise BioMatch Mobile in its first smartphone with fingerprint technology,” said Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics. “Precise Biometrics fingerprint software is integrated in products from over 30 vendors and has become the preferred choice to ensure a superior user experience and secure identity verification on mobile devices.”
