UK gym chain selects ievo fingerprint readers

UK chain Pump Gyms have upgraded its access control system to include biometrics and selected ievo Ultimate fingerprint readers to solve problems related to members and non-members sharing PIN numbers.

According to a company blog post, ievo worked with installation partner Vistec Systems to provide biometric fingerprint readers to add an additional layer of security to the access control solution installed at the gym facilities. The partners were also asked to provide a solution to integrate into current security parameters to help combat issues with ‘PIN sharing’ between members and non-members.

Installed alongside the Paxton Net2 system, ievo Ultimate fingerprint readers were chosen due to Vistec Systems having worked with the products on multiple sites and seeing the reliability and success they bring to access control systems. The ievo Ultimate was installed to help control access to the gym sites, and ensure Pump Gyms that only registered members would be granted entry.

ievo fingerprint readers were installed on the main entrance door and the changing rooms. Vistec Systems also installed Ultimate readers into enrollment kiosks, which allow members to self-register their fingerprints for instant access to the site.
