HYPR Corp. has secured $3 million in funding from RTP Ventures, Boldstart Ventures and Mesh Ventures.

The company will use the funds for rapid expansion of its security engineering talent base and its dedicated office space in the Herald Square area of central Manhattan.

“This funding is earmarked for expanding our world-class engineering team in order to better serve our large enterprise customers,” HYPR CEO George Avetisov said in an email interview. “Securing this funding round with our enterprise software-focused VCs has helped us reach the right network of engineers. One thing you appreciate years into a startup is that team is everything. We’re investing into the best team in the biometric security field.

“As for office space, we just opened our new headquarters in the Herald Square area of Manhattan, across from the Empire State building and Macy’s. The team and our customers already love it.”

HYPR’s technology helps ensure secure biometric banking through fingerprint, voice, face, eye and palm recognition to provide users a seamless and secure shopping experience that does not rely on PINs and/or passwords.

The company’s biometric security solutions integrate seamlessly into employee and customer-facing applications.

As a fully interoperable solution, HYPR enables companies around the globe to deliver a secure passwordless experience across mobile, desktop and IoT systems.

“We believe that HYPR can become a ubiquitous building block for the swelling wave of connected applications, giving their customers a way to securely interface with the complex mesh of users, devices, and services,” said Kirill Sheynkman, managing partner and founder at RTP Ventures. “RTP is proud to be backing a company that has a keen focus on providing such a critical piece of the modern security puzzle to companies that so keenly need it.”

Previously reported, HYPR Corp. partnered with EyeVerify to integrate Eyeprint ID payment-grade biometric technology into the HYPR platform giving enterprise customers a powerful and unique biometric sensing modality to achieve increased levels of assurance.
