ABN AMRO presenting at Biometrics in Banking and Payments seminar in Amsterdam
The European Association for Biometrics (EAB) is holding its next ‘Biometrics in Banking and Payments’ seminar at the ABN AMRO head offices in Amsterdam on December 8th, 2016.
The seminar will reflect the trends and opportunities of biometrics in the financial market and will discuss how processes can be designed both convenient and privacy compliant. The speakers will provide attendees with their experience on how to best benefit from biometric technologies and solutions and first class experts in the field of European regulations in the financial sector and data protection will share their views on how they use biometrics in a compliant way.
The seminar offers a line-up of international speakers, ranging from end users to experts who will bring you up to date with the state of the art in biometric technology advances. Speakers will focus on the underlying business cases and developments in mobile banking and financial transactions and will share their experiences from a business perspective, touching important aspects such as process flows, added value, fraud reduction, implementation strategy and client experience.
Catherine Jasserand, LLM, PhD researcher, Department of European Technology Law & Human Rights at the University of Groningen, will discuss privacy aspects of biometrics in perspective of the new European General Data Protection Regulation. Johannes de Jong, lawyer and Head Regulatory at Osborne Clarke, will provide an update on the PSD2 and how it may impact biometric authentication and identification in the financial sector.
‘Biometrics in Banking and Payments’ will provide guidance on how biometrics can be used to optimize key aspects of the banking and payment processes, such as customer interaction, operational efficiency, fraud reduction and prevention. Attendees will learn about biometric solutions for in-branch and mobile environments, as well as for internal and customer-facing usage.
The seminar is targeted to a broad profile of participants, such as innovation managers, customer journey experts, security managers, solution designers, marketing managers and legal experts. At the Mini Expo there will be 10 companies demonstrating the latest technologies and solutions in a face-to-face setting.

This seminar will be hosted by ABN AMRO and sponsored by Behaviosec, Biotrust, Daon, Fujitsu, Nuance, Onegini and UL. The European Association for Biometrics is organizing the event in cooperation with Platform Identity Management Netherlands (PIMN) .
