Genie CCTV fingerprint reader approved for UK government use


Genie CCTV announced that its flagship biometric fingerprint authentication system, VIRDI AC5000SC, has been approved for UK government use.

The system is networkable or standalone, and will be included in Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure’s (CPNI) trusted Catalogue of Security Equipment (CSE).

“We are pleased to hear that the our widely popular fingerprint authentication system is now fully approved for UK government use,” said John Boorman, sales and marketing director at Genie. “Our customers and their clients will clearly benefit from a trusted and proven biometric fingerprint system.”

The AC5000 is equipped with several features, including fake fingerprint detection, IP65 weatherproof touch keypad, new white optical sensor, 32bit 400MHz CPU processor, memory capacity, 2.8″ TFT color screen, multi-language functionality, and a customized LED display.

Genie will be conducting live demonstrations of VIRDI AC5000SC at the UK Security Expo, held at the London Olympia from 30 November 30 to December 1.

Previously reported, Genie CCTV partnered with FST Biometrics to offer the In Motion Identification solution in the UK.
