MorphoWave wins awards in three categories at IARPA N2N Fingerprint Challenge

IDEMIA has announced that MorphoWave is taking home awards in three categories from the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) Nail to Nail (N2N) Fingerprint Challenge.

MorphoWave is winning awards in the Fastest Scan, Best Gallery Accuracy, and Best Latent Accuracy categories. The company says the contactless desktop fingerprint scanner is the only device winning in three categories, and is the only contactless device in the top three for the rolled print and latent print matching accuracy categories.

“It is an honor for IDEMIA to receive these awards from IARPA,” said Ed Casey, Chief Executive Officer of Identity & Security, N.A. “The recognition of MorphoWave in three categories demonstrates our technology leadership in contactless fingerprint captures. IDEMIA’s commitment to research and development that address our customers’ needs remains our driving force.”

The results not only confirm the superior capture speed of MorphoWave, according to IDEMIA, but also show it has achieved matching accuracy close to traditional contact fingerprint capture devices.

Other finalists in the IARPA N2N Challenge include Green Bit and Touchless Biometric Systems.

IDEMIA announced in February that MorphoWave is being integrated with SlimLane security lane products from Automatic Systems.
