Paychex deploys Applied Recognition face recognition technology

Applied Recognition announced that its Ver-ID Person technology was selected by Paychex to add face recognition technology to the tablet kiosk solutions in the company’s time and attendance portfolio.

“By offering face recognition as an option to clock employees in and out, Paychex is deepening its position as a market and technology leader,” commented Sean O’Leary, vp of corporate development for Applied Recognition. “The use of face recognition for T&A offers employers many benefits, perhaps the most notable being the elimination of the potential for fraud arising from so-called ‘buddy punching’. Moving to face-powered biometrics also means that there’s nothing for an employee to forget or to mis-place, lowering administrative costs and avoiding substantial lost time.”

“ARI’s face recognition technology is a critical enabler for those clients utilizing the tablet kiosk option for Paychex Flex Time,” added Tom Hammond, vice president of corporate strategy and product management at Paychex.

Paychex began rolling out the facial recognition solution for its tablet kiosk this fall.

Applied Recognition was recently accepted into VMware’s Technology Alliance Partner Program.
