NEXT Biometrics working with WizCard to augment biometric cards with display feature

An agreement between NEXT Biometrics and Taiwan-based WizCard has the companies colloborating to integrate a display feature into biometric smart cards. WizCard offers build-in module design services for smart card manufacturers.

The WizCard solution facilitates use of display technology in standard payment, public transportation and other smart cards and will be enhanced with NEXT Biometrics’ fingerprint sensor technology for secure authentication. Display technology in smart cards is often used for one-time-passwords for log-in situations and to show credit balance. The technology is also be used to create a dynamic card verification value.

This further widens our global network of business partners and scope of application for our advanced sensor technology in the smart card sector.”

Last month NEXT Biometrics announced it had raised $18.7M and reported a 34 percent leap in gross margin for 2018. The Norwegian biometrics firm recently announced that it is expanding its collaborative efforts with MK Group to include market and product development of identity and access management applications as well as PKI-based secure authentication solutions.
