Ipsidy partners with RemoteLock for facial biometric access control system

Cloud-based access control provider RemoteLock will integrate facial biometrics from Ipsidy to unlock doors for authenticated users, the companies have announced.

The two companies will work together to integrate their cloud platforms to enable doors controlled by the RemoteLock EdgeState platform to be opened with Ipsidy’s Access mobile biometric application. The combined solution provides employees or residents with a seamless user experience for entering buildings with wireless locks on a single door or multiple doors. User’s smartphones interact with doors through energy efficient Bluetooth beacons mounted at access points.

To meet additional security requirements, Ipsidy Proof can also be implemented to validate the identity of users against identity documents like a passport or driver’s license. Both Proof and Access were launched by Ipsidy during it’s fiscal 2018 year, and helped drive company revenue growth above 60 percent.

The companies showcased the combined product, which is planned for a mid-2019 launch, at ISC West.
