LIPS Corporation wins iF Design Award for new 3D AI facial recognition terminal

LIPS Corporation’s new LIPSFace AC770 3D AI facial recognition terminal has been recognized with an iF Design Award, the company announced.

The terminal is based on a flip design concept for seamless integration with desktop or wall-mounted units, stands or turnstiles, and it delivers 0.3 second contactless biometric authentication for multiple amenities, including offices, hospitals, commercial buildings, R&D labs, private apartments, business, hotels, VIP lounges and financial institutions.

LIPSFace AC770 3D leverages the LIPSFace AI engine which provides facial recognition performance with MegaFace accuracy up to 98.89 percent and LFW up to 99.83 percent, the company claims. Its 3D AI liveness detection prevents high-resolution 2D images or 3D mask-based authentication from spoofing attempts and the ageless recognition technology continuously studies facial appearance.

Some 20,000 profiles can be stored and processed at the edge by a terminal unit. Terminals can communicate with the Centralized Management Software (CMS) for fast integration and to host unlimited profiles.

The iF Design Award is an independent international competition to identify excellence in industrial design.

“LIPS is very honored to win the iF Design Award 2020. It shows that LIPS not only excels in developing cutting-edge 3D sensing technology, but also in creating great product design and user experiences,” said in a prepared statement Luke Liu, CEO of LIPS Corporation.
