Daltrey has partnered with Australia’s sovereign cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider AUCloud to meet the demand for a more streamlined sovereign identity solution among government and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) communities, according to a company announcement.

The collaboration will allow Daltrey to expand its onshore cloud offering, build national, trusted capability, and help the government to eliminate identity risk.

The new project will focus on the development of a sovereign identity solution aimed at increasing security in the Australian Government and Critical National Industries (CNI).

“[The] Australian government and CNI face several key identity challenges,” explained Blair Crawford, Managing Director of Daltrey, “including siloed physical and digital access environments, complex cross-agency authentication, and the burden of legacy systems.”

Hosted on AUCloud’s sovereign IaaS, Daltrey will now help the country strengthen its biometric authentication solutions for digital identity applications.

“Daltrey’s mission is to eliminate identity risk by allowing organizations to use one trusted biometric credential for universal authentication across all agencies and access environments, both physical and digital,” Crawford said.

“This enables the government and CNI to move beyond outdated authentication methods including passwords, access cards, and PINs.”

The ultimate goal of this collaboration would then be to offer Australian organizations greater control over how biometrics and other personal data are stored.

“AUCloud is owned, managed and operated in Australia with data and services that are 100% sovereign, operated in Australia by Australian citizens,” said Phil Dawson, Managing Director of AUCloud. “This is of the utmost importance when managing personally identifiable information, including biometric data such as fingerprints, irises, and faces.”

AUCloud is independently IRAP assessed to the PROTECTED controls of Australian Signals Directorate and the Information Security Manual.

To guarantee national security, the company is also aligned with the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Cloud Assessment and Authorisation (CAAF) Framework.
