Q5id partners with SkyPoint Cloud on biometrics-powered privacy solution
As part of the collaboration, SkyPoint Cloud secure capabilities will be embedded within the Q5id platform, to protect businesses and consumers against identity theft and fraud.
The move comes at a time where the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), passed as Prop. 24 in the recent election, is causing U.S. companies to reevaluate their security efforts in regard to privacy and identity access.
“Privacy is an intrinsic part of identity management, as organizations apply user information to access management policies while also mining and monetizing the information for the business,” said Tisson Mathew, SkyPoint’s CEO.
According to the CEO, digital identity is increasingly considered a strategic tool for managing privacy.
“[Identity can] protect both users and organizations, by aligning data collection practices including biometrics with regulations like CPRA [and] other state and federal regulations.”
The collaboration with SkyPoint Cloud will now see Q5id expand its offering further.
“[It] will help us accelerate our delivery of the world’s first proven identity management solution with integrated privacy controls,” said Steve Larson, CEO of Q5id.
According to the CEO, Q5id and SkyPoint will give organizations a best in class way to prove the identity of their users while maintaining trusted privacy controls and data governance.
Q5id provides a digital identity verification solution that eliminates the need for passwords by replacing traditional authentication methods with face, voice, and palm biometrics. The company was founded by Larson earlier this year along with team members from his former company SureID.
