Fintech startup Flywallet reveals biometric wearable at CES 2021

Keyble is designed to be integrated into fashion accessories

Italian fintech startup Flywallet revealed a new biometric wearable at CES 2021 last week.

Dubbed Keyble, the module can be incorporated into a variety of fashion accessories, including watch straps, bracelets and bangles.

Keyble features biosensing technology to read users’ vitals and cardiac arrhythmias, with Flywallet saying it aims at making those capabilities medical grade by the end of the year.

The device also integrated a built-in biometric fingerprint sensor to enable in-store and online payments, with public transport, loyalty cards, and other interaction possibilities planned for the coming months.

Upon purchase, users will have to enroll their fingerprint biometrics, which then will be used for authentication of the module’s smart features and payment actions.

Flywallet’s website clarifies that all biometrics and sensitive data collected on users are enclosed and stored in one tamper-proof security chip inaccessible to anyone, not even the company.

The company is also environmentally responsible. Keyble devices are built with aluminum and plastic composites, and their straps are made from apple skin and recycled microfiber, with fabric coated in recycled marble powder, according to the announcement.

Android and iOS apps are used to configure Keyble wearables and are available on Google Play and App Store.
