Shufti Pro introduces biometric digital health pass for rapid verification of COVID tests

facial recognition can identify people wearing masks

Shufti Pro has unveiled a Digital COVID Pass that it says can quickly verify COVID-19 test results and reduce manual labor, with identity verification through face biometrics.

The new biometric COVID test verification product is meant to help people and businesses adapt to the new normal as they deal with new and continuing restrictions to contain the virus’ variants, according to the announcement.

The Digital COVID Pass supports requirements concerned governments have put in place for people to present authentic test results before they can have access to certain public spaces and airports.

The pass can be used with no installation and no app download, and a COVID-PCR test report can be verified within seconds in a streamlined process. It can be used from a browser with a webcam enabled to capture images for biometric matching, through a mobile app, or via integration into a touchless kiosk.

Shufti says its intelligent OCR solution has the ability to extract the QR code from the report to ensure its authenticity, with AI-powered document verification further verifying the legitimacy of the report by analyzing the document type and format.

“We at Shufti Pro believe that fast yet authentic security is the future, so Digital COVID pass is designed for safe and fast adaptation to the new normal. That is why we are extending technology customization offers to any businesses, public facilities or airport authorities who are willing to use our solution,” Victor Fredung, Shufti Pro CEO said of the new health pass.

Shahid Hanif, the company’s CTO, said the Digital COVID Pass is flexible enough as it can be accessed via a web browser without any installation required. He said it works for both printed test results and QR verification, pledging their team will always work to be at the forefront of technical aspects of the digital identity revolution.

Shufti Pro is also known for its KYC and customer onboarding verification services. The company sealed a deal with Drakemall last year to provide real-time KYC verification with its selfie biometrics.
