8th Border Management and Identity Conference (BMIC8)

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and APSCA will host the 8th Conference on Technical Cooperation & Capacity Building for Border Management and Identity (BMIC8) on 2–4 December 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The theme for BMIC8 is: Proof in Motion: Adapting Border Management in an Evolving World.

Since its inception in 2010, BMIC has grown into a global forum for government agencies (immigration, border control, civil registration, customs, public security, etc.), international organizations, industry partners, and subject matter experts to exchange information and shape the future border and identity management agenda.

BMIC8 will provide an international forum to examine how border management can remain effective, inclusive, and resilient in an era of rapid change. Through high-level dialogue, technical workshops, and practical demonstrations, the conference will support stakeholders in adapting policies, technologies, and institutional frameworks to evolving realities. BMIC8 places “Proof in Motion” at the center of its agenda, underscoring the importance of dynamic, trusted, and human-centered identity and border management systems capable of responding to the complex mobility challenges of the future.
