HRS facial recognition technology wins UK software award

Human Recognition Systems (HRS) has been awarded the Intellect Innovation Award in London at last week’s Software Satisfaction Awards 2012.

The award acknowledges an innovative new product benefiting business users or customers, attaining notable UK end-user interest.

The winning product is MFlow Journey, already deployed in major UK Airports including Gatwick Airport and London City Airport, improving operational efficiency and enhancing the overall passenger experience.

The decision was unanimous by the awarding panel and described as a ‘game changer’.

MFlow Journey uses facial recognition technology to track and manage travellers in airports and other transportation hubs. Facilitating real-time journey and queue measurement, MFlow Journey assists with staffing logistics, reducing queue times and bottlenecks. The system also speeds up passenger flow into areas such as one with retail shops, so airports can maximise revenues.

Aviation Business Unit Manager of Human Recognition Systems, Jim Slevin, collected the award and said “HRS is extremely proud to have achieved this award, not least due to a unanimous verdict by the judging panel in recognition of our innovative and truly value adding software development.”
