Lumidigm fingerprint readers now SAP certified to combat fraud

Lumidigm, Inc., a biometric company dedicated to enabling convenient, secure, and reliable identification and verification, announced that its fingerprint readers are now supported by bioLock software from realtime North America Inc.

The only biometric system certified by SAP, world leader in enterprise software and software-related services, the bioLock software solution, with Lumidigm biometrics, will be demonstrated at SAPHILA 2012, the largest SAP customer-run show in South Africa this week.

“Overall we are very impressed with the performance of the multispectral imaging technology in Lumidigm’s fingerprint sensors — they work in the most challenging environments and with difficult populations where other sensors can struggle,” exclaimed Thomas Neudenberger, COO of realtime North America Inc.

The bioLock software solution helps manage SAP user identities with biometrics and prevents insider fraud. Not only does it manage the log-on, but it also enables re-authentication at granular levels within an SAP system to achieve real compliance and fraud prevention.

“This integration into SAP via bioLock will be an important way we serve our enterprise customers in markets such as banking,” said Bill Spence, Lumidigm VP of North America Sales. “Being able to provide a more complete authentication solution to SAP users makes it simpler, faster and less expensive for them to drive higher reliability and security into their infrastructures.”

Back in June, Biometric Update reported that a large Brazilian bank is deploying 12,000 ATMs with Lumidigm’s multispectral fingerprint readers, replacing traditional PINs.
